Uptime Monitoring

uptimerobot.com offers free uptime monitoring with a frequency of 5 minute checks. Once you have set up an account follow the instructions below to create a monitor.

Log in to your account and click [ + Add New Monitor]

Select the "Keyword" monitor type, this will look for a word you specify on the page and will only report an error if it is not found. In certain circumstances WordPress displays an error page rather than your website, this is not detected if you only check if the website is "up".

Enter a friendly name "My website" etc

The URL of the website, ie www.domain.com

A keyword to look for, ie your business name or a service, something specific to your site.

Set the monitor as "Case-insensitive" and choose [Keyword Not Exists]

Select who/how you want to be notified.

The click [Create Monitor]

Your monitor is now set up.
